Recently, Insurly, the French travel insurance company, released the 2020 Ranking of the World’s Safest Countries or a list of the safest countries in the world for tourists in 2020.
The list is compiled based on an assessment of the health and safety risks of travel. Including the outbreak or infectious disease (before corona struck) and political violence that was sweeping the country.
As a result, Switzerland was named the safest country in the world with a score of 93.4. Of the 180 countries in the world, Switzerland managed to get the highest score (100 points) in all categories.
Switzerland scored 98 on the availability of transportation, 92 in the health category, and 90 and 91 on the risk of violence and natural disasters. Singapore is ranked second only to Switzerland as the safest country for tourists. This is because, Singapore has a low crime rate, and the country is also very friendly to tourists.
In the list, the Nordic or Scandinavian countries rank at the top as the safest countries in the world. Norway is in third place with a score of 91.1. Followed by other countries, namely Luxembourg, Cyprus, Iceland and Denmark.
Japan is also on the list as the safest country in the world in 2020 for tourists, ranking 10th with a score of 83.3.
